On March 25th, 2011 in a long effort to bring "Sarcoidosis Awareness" to the State of Indiana and to the City of Indianapolis, Mayor Greg A. Ballard has declared April 2011 as "Sarcoidosis Awareness Month" for the city!
I.R.I.S., Inc. met another goal in assisting, a sister organization Central Indiana Sarcoidosis Support Group,Inc. gain another stepping stone.
I.R.I.S., Inc. President, Robert "Bob" Buchanan stated, "It is a great accomplishment for the silent population of Children, Women & Men, coping with the incurable illness of Sarcoidosis. Now awareness can bring to light what many in the world still do not understand. The hard work must still continue, and we are here to keep fighting".
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is expected to also sign a statewide proclamation.
